Audio Analysis Tool for Authors

The Audio Analysis Tool is an upcoming feature from Findaway Voices to help ensure audio files pass the Findaway Voices Technical Audio Requirements

What Does the Tool Check For?

The Audio Analysis Tool checks for the following audio specifications:

  1. Average RMS
  2. Peak RMS
  3. Bitrate
  4. Sample Rate
  5. Number of Channels (i.e. mono or stereo)
Our tool does not check for all specifications. Please be sure you are meeting all requirements which can be found here.

How Does it Work?

The Audio Analysis Tool will be available for Authors who are distributing an already finished audiobook and for Narrators working on Findaway Voices audiobook productions (including Voices Share).

Authors Distributing a Finished Audiobook

After all required audio files have been uploaded to the Audio page of the project, a blue Analyze Audio Files

button will unlock at the bottom of the Audio page. Click this button to begin the Audio Analysis of your audio files.

The process can take up to an hour (or more depending on how many audio files your audiobook has) to complete. When the Audio Analysis has finished, you will be notified via email that the summary is ready.

You can also access the Audio Analysis summary from the Audio page of the project, and directly from the project card on your Findaway Voices dashboard. Look for the icon.

The Audio Analysis tool does not guarantee your audio files will pass specifications at all distribution partners. The Audio Analysis tool should only be used as a guide to audio specifications. Please be sure you are meeting all requirements which can be found here.

What if My Audiobook is Already Published?

If your audiobook is already published, here is how the Audio Analysis Tool will affect you:

Changes to metadata (i.e. cover art, price, description)

The Audio Analysis Tool will not have any impact on changes to your audiobook metadata. You will be able to re-publish as normal.

Changes to audio files

If audio files are replaced or added, the Audio Analysis tool will engage and will require you to submit all files (including previously distributed ones) for analysis. Please be aware that some previously distributed files may fail analysis. Any failed files must be revised to pass audio analysis before the audiobook can be republished.
